The Event Layout: Since we have have hosted many weekends for our own family and friends, we have a pretty good idea what works well. But when you rent the estate, the mansion becomes "your" mansion, so within some guidelines, you can do things how you want. The ceremony is usually held outdoors on the great lawn, which has terrific views of the mountain and sunset. Cocktails work well being served on the verandah overlooking the lawn, and the seated dinner is usually served throughout the formal rooms inside the house or, for larger groups, outdoors beneath a tent. After dinner, the music can be outdoors if it is acoustic/not amplified or indoors if it is, with dancing and a dessert buffet in the music room, foyer and dining room. A rainy day ceremony is possible indoors in one of our first floor entertaining rooms, where a seated/standing option may be arranged depending on the size of your party. We specialize in smaller weddings and for weddings with more than 175 guests, we often partner with one of several other spaces we have come to know and appreciate.
When you rent the estate for the weekend, we provide:
Prior to the wedding weekend:
- Extensive phone and email communications with Jamie to plan your wedding weekend. If you already are working with a planner, we can provide them whatever support/local knowledge that they want.
- Pre-wedding stay at the estate to make dreaming and planning for the wedding fun, easy and efficient. This can include visits from the relevant potential chefs, florists, officiants, etc. Everyone comes to the estate so things are hassle free for you.
The wedding weekend:
- Exclusive use of the mansion and grounds for your family and friends during the weekend (Friday to Sunday)
- Use of the mansion and grounds for wedding ceremony and wedding reception
- Use of the estate for pre- and post-wedding activities such as a rehearsal dinner and a farewell brunch
- Two-night rental of 12 bedrooms for sleeping up to 25 guests
- Set up and break down of ceremony, reception and pre- and post-wedding
- Tables and chairs for all events held indoors, for 80 guests
- On-site coordination on the wedding day
- Manager or staff on-site or on-call during the weekend for guest assistance and/or coordination of events
- Valet parking for guests on wedding day
- For in-house guests, a kitchen stocked with snacks and breakfast provided daily
- Daily housekeeping
- Fresh picked vegetables and herbs from our small farm (seasonal)
